Their work has been exhibited across Canada and internationally in both the trade union movement and art galleries and museums |
Portrait of ResistanceIn these times, as the consequences of unregulated greed come into painful focus, the activist-art of Condé and Beveridge has never been more resonant.

Public Exposures Photo ExhibitThe Public Exposures exhibition —showing a career selection of the artists’ photo works— is being presented by a coalition of five galleries: A Space gallery, Urbanspace gallery, Trinity Square Video, Prefix Institute for Contemporary Art, and YYZ artists’ outlet. All are located on the first floor in Toronto’s 401 Richmond building. Organized by curator, Jim Miller, the show has evolved from years spent documenting the artists, with filmmaking partner, Roz Owen.
Open from May 14th to June 25th, the exhibition sets the stage for related activities —the symposium, screenings, talks, and performance events. The main exhibition is also incorporating a contemporary ‘response’ to Condé and Beveridge’s first collaborative work It’s Still Privileged Art (1975), by a diverse selection of emerging artists -- organized and co-curated by Leaf Watson and Sanjit Dhillon. |
